KU drops out of top 10 in polls

Kansas dropped out of the top 10 _ to 11th _ in both major basketball polls.

The Jayhawks, who were ninth last week, split games during the final week of the regular season, losing at Texas Tech and beating Texas and take a 25-6 record into this week’s Big 12 Tournament in Oklahoma City.

Missouri picked up and lost poll real estate. After a week in which they defeated Oklahoma and lost to Texas A&M, the Tigers jumped one spot in the Associated Press poll to No. 14, and fell three spots in the USA Today coaches poll to No. 15.

North Carolina rose to first in both polls and Pittsburgh is second. Rounding out the AP top five: Connecticut, Memphis and Louisville. In USA Today, it went Memphis, Connecticut and Louisville.

Oklahoma is sixth in AP, seventh in USA Today.
