KU cracks top 10; MU's ranking drops

For the first time this season, Kansas reached the top 10 in the major polls.

The Jayhawks, 24-5, are ranked ninth by the Associated Press and USA Today poll of coaches and a week in which they defeated third-ranked Oklahoma and Missouri, which was ranked 11th by AP and eighth by the coaches.

This week, Mizzou, 24-5, is 15th in the AP poll and 12th in USA Today.

There’s a scramble in the top five. Connecticut and North Carolina are 1-2 in both polls. Pittsburgh, Oklahoma and Memphis follow in the AP poll. Among the coaches, it went Memphis, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma.

Missouri plays host to the Sooners on Wednesday.

Kansas can clinch its fifth straight Big 12 championship with a victory at Texas Tech on Wednesday.
