Missouri man gets life for killing girlfriend with dryer cord

WARRENTON, Mo. | A Warren County judge has sentenced a man to life in prison for strangling his girlfriend with a hair dryer cord.

Kenneth Wayne Beck, 36, admitted he killed 33-year-old Stacie Hough in a June 2006 argument in the mobile home they shared.

He was sentenced Friday to life in prison without parole for first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

In the bench trial, Beck asked Circuit Judge James R. Hartenbach to find him guilty of a lesser charge that could have made him eligible for parole. Beck said he never intended to kill Hough.
