Gordon Lamb, who briefly led UM system and UMKC, will retire

COLUMBIA | Former University of Missouri interim president Gordon Lamb is set to retire.

Lamb took over the four-campus system in April 2007 after Elson Floyd's departure. He remained on board as an executive vice president when Gary Forsee was hired as Floyd's permanent replacement one year ago. He's retiring Sunday.

Lamb previously worked as interim chancellor at the system's Kansas City campus and was president of Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago for nearly a decade.

Forsee says the executive vice president position will be not be filled.
