An apparent head slap by Kansas State guard Denis Clemente to Kansas guard Tyrel Reed in Saturday’s game at Manhattan drew a terse “no comment” from Jayhawks Coach Bill Self on Monday’s Big 12 coaches teleconference.
“I saw it,” Self said. “I’m not going to comment on it at all.”
Kansas State Coach Frank Martin was also brief about the incident.
“We’re dealing with that right now,” Martin said.

After Clemente attempted a free throw with 31 seconds remaining, Reed moved in front of Clemente and made contact in a box-out position.
Clemente then slapped the side of Reed’s head. Play didn’t stop.
The Big 12 confirmed Monday morning that it was looking into the incident.
Earlier in the game, Clemente received a technical foul for throwing a retaliatory elbow at Brady Morningstar, who had must been whistled for a foul on Clemente.
Clemente apologized to his teammates in the postgame locker room.
The Jayhawks won the game in Manhattan, Kan., 85-74.
