Union Pacific employee struck and killed by train in Kansas

HERINGTON, Kan. | A 26-year-old Union Pacific Railroad employee is dead after being run over by a train in a Herington railyard.

A police statement Monday said Saxton Haselwood of Burden was killed when he was struck by a train at around 3 a.m. Sunday. Haselwood was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was taken to Topeka for an autopsy.

Herington police and Union Pacific authorities are investigating the accident.
