After tying a Big 12 record with 44 points Saturday against Texas, Kansas State junior guard Denis Clemente was named Big 12 player of the week Monday.
Clemente averaged 27 points and five assists in a pair of victories against the Longhorns and Missouri. He shot 77.8 percent from three-point range and made all 13 of his free throw attempts.
He is the first K-State player to be recognized this season, the first since Michael Beasley, who scored 44 points a year ago in a loss at Baylor.
