Petraeus to speak at Kansas State

MANHATTAN, Kan. | Gen. David Petraeus is scheduled to speak at Kansas State University on April 27.

The commander of the U.S. Central Command oversees U.S. forces in East Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. He became the commander in October after serving 19 months commanding the coalition forces in Iraq.

Petraeus is making a return to Kansas, where he commanded the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth.

Petraeus' appearance is part of the Landon Lecture series, which has featured a number of national and world leaders to speak at Kansas State.
