Health department closes Couzin's Catfish Castle

The Kansas City Missouri Health Department temporarily closed Couzin's Catfish Castle on Tuesday afternoon.

The restaurant will remain closed until it passes a re-inspection.

Couzin's, at 1109 Bannister Road, had several critical violations, including mouse droppings and food debris on food equipment in the kitchen, mold on the potato salad, spoiled cole slaw, a box of mint candies at the drive-thru that had packets chewed open and mouse droppings on the food, and an open container of mustard potato salad with a manufacturer's expiration date of 11/21/08 in the cooler.
