Three firefighters hurt in Missouri roof collapse

DE SOTO, Mo. | Three firefighters are recovering after being hurt when a roof collapsed as they were battling a blaze at a house.

The fire happened Thursday night in southern Jefferson County. The firefighters are from the De Soto Rural Fire Department.

One firefighter was taken to St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis with a possible head injury, after his helmet was knocked off. Another was hospitalized with a leg injury, and the third was hospitalized with heat exhaustion.

By midday Friday, all three were out of the hospital.
