That old Paseo bridge project making your commute miserable?
Starting today, the Metro is expanding bus service for downtown commuters who might want to avoid the congestion across the Missouri River while a new bridge is under construction.
The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority is adding two to trips to the No. 129 I-29 Express during the morning and afternoon rush hours
Two trips were added this morning, one leaving Kansas City International Airport at 6:15 a.m. and the other leaving the airport at 6:45 a.m. Bus service starts at the airport at 5:32.

Two trips will be added this afternoon, one leaving 10th and Main Street at 4:19 and the other at 4:49 p.m. The last trip out of 10th and Main downtown is at 6:02 this afternoon.
The 129/I-29 express both avoid the Paseo Bridge, which is down to one lane in both directions because of the $245 million highway project. They use the Broadway and Heart of America bridges instead.
The service is being partly funded by the Missouri Department of Transportation, which contributed $204,000 toward expanding Northland service.
