St. Louis toddler found OK in dad's stolen car

ST. LOUIS | St. Louis police say a 2-year-old boy is safe after the car he was sitting in was stolen while his father was inside a restaurant picking up a take-out order.

Police spokeswoman Erica Van Ross said the man had driven to the northside restaurant at 10:30 p.m. Monday. Before he returned with his food, the man discovered that someone had swiped his black Mercury Sable.

Police located the missing car less than an hour later after receiving an anonymous tip. The boy was still in the vehicle in good condition.

The child and father were taken to a local hospital for observation.
