K-State leads Baylor in Big 12 baseball semifinal game

OKLAHOMA CITY | Kansas State has a lead in its quest to make it to its first Big 12 baseball tournament championship.

The Wildcats scored a run in the bottom of the fourth Saturday night and lead Baylor 1-0 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. K-State scored when its first two batters reached, Jason King laid down a sacrifice bunt and Drew Biery followed with a grounder to deep second that score Nate Tenbrink, who led off with a single.

If the Wildcats beat Baylor, they are in the title game at 1 p.m. Sunday against Texas. That scenario was made possible when Oklahoma State beat Nebraska 11-5 on Saturday evening.

But if K-State loses, Oklahoma State will advance and face Texas for the championship. The Longhorns made it to the title game by beating Oklahoma 11-10 in the first game of the day. Missouri had a shot at playing for the championship, but it lost to Texas A&M 6-2, which sent Texas to the final.
