Starlight Theatre has chosen a successor to Bob Rohlf, the nonprofit theater association’s president and executive producer who will retire later this year.
Denton Yockey, Rohlf’s counterpart at Casa Manana in Fort Worth, will take over at Starlight on Sept. 1.
Yockey has been at Casa Manana since 1997. During that time the historic Texas playhouse has occasionally co-produced summer musicals with Starlight.
The Texas company experienced significant growth in terms of subscriptions and programming under Yockey, who began presenting touring musicals at the Bass Performance Hall in downtown Fort Worth and oversaw a $4.4 million capital campaign to renovate the 45-year-old Casa Manana theater in 2002-03. He oversees as $10 million budget and 20 productions a year in various venues.
