KU burns nets, Portland State in first half

OMAHA, Neb. | If the first half against Portland State is any indication, the Kansas Jayhawks haven’t cooled off from their weekend in Kansas City.

No. 1 seed KU leads No. 16 seed Portland State 49-26 at halftime thanks to more hot shooting. The Jayhawks shot 64.3 percent from the field, making 18 of 28 attempts -- including eight of 13 from three-point range.

Kansas’ top scorers continued their assault on the nets. Brandon Rush had 15 points to lead KU. Mario Chalmers had 10, and Darrell Arthur and Sherron Collins each had nine.
