LAWRENCE | Kansas coach Mark Mangino underwent tests at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for undisclosed reasons.
“I underwent some tests for the past couple of days at Lawrence Memorial Hospital,” Mangino said through a statement released by the athletic department. “These are tests that I had put off until the end of the season. The tests have been completed. I’m fine, and I’ll be back in the office and recruiting starting tomorrow.”
A spokesman at Lawrence Memorial Hospital said on Monday night that the facility had no record of Mangino being admitted.
Mangino won numerous national coach-of-the-year awards this season for his work in leading the Jayhawks to a school-best 12-1 record and a victory in the Orange Bowl.
