LAWRENCE | Darrell Arthur scored 14 points and added 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the year as Kansas pounded Miami (Ohio) 78-54 on Saturday.
Thanks to the play inside from Arthur and Darnell Jackson, who also had 14 points, the Jayhawks became the first team in 45 games to score at least 70 points on the RedHawks.
Arthur showed once again why KU coach Bill Self wants the Jayhawks’ half-court offense run through him. With an impressive array of jump-hooks and turnaround jumpers, Arthur got the easy baskets that Miami (Ohio) normally doesn’t give up.
The RedHawks became the second-straight Mid-American Conference opponent that was no match for No. 3 KU in the last week. Last Saturday, Ohio came into Sprint Center after an upset win at Maryland and was sent away by the Jayhawks 88-51. On Saturday, the RedHawks came to Allen Fieldhouse after having just won at Illinois.
