MANHATTAN, Kan. _ No undefeated season for California.
The Kansas State men’s basketball team took care of that Sunday. The Wildcats handed the Bears their first loss of the season, 82-75, at Bramlage Coliseum.
K-State, 6-3, snapped a two-game losing streak. California, trying to go 7-0 for the first time in 13 years, is 6-1.The Wildcats led by as many as nine in the second half at 60-51, with 9 minutes, 40 seconds remaining. Later, it was tied 69-69 when K-State went on a 7-2 run, moving in front 76-71 on freshman Michael Beasley’s three-point play with 58.7 left.
K-State led by just two when freshman Bill Walker went to the free throw line with 29.1 seconds to go. He sank them both, part of career-high 30 points. Walker, who made 14 of 16 free throws, also had 10 rebounds.Beasley had 19 points and 11 rebounds. Clent Stewart added 11 points and Jacob Pullen had 10 for the WildcatsCalifornia got 24 points from Ryan Anderson.

The game was tied 38-38 at halftime.California led by as many as 10 points before intermission. K-State pulled even with less than 3 seconds to go before the break on Pullen’s driving layup.
