Nebraska to name Pelini as new coach today

LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini will be introduced as Nebraska’s new head coach at a 4 p.m. news conference today.

Pelini was the Cornhuskers defensive coordinator in 2003 and served as the interim head coach when Frank Solich was fired after the regular season. Pelini coached Nebraska to a victory over Michigan State in the Alamo Bowl.

The announcement will come eight days after interim athletic director Tom Osborne fired Bill Callahan, who completed a four-year stay in Lincoln with a 5-7 record.
