Police investigate apparent murder-suicide in Olathe apartment

Olathe police responding to a disturbance call early this morning found two people dead inside an apartment in what may have been a murder-suicide.

Authorities said that police received a 911 call about 12:30 a.m. and responded to a disturbance report in an apartment in the 600 block of South Harrison. After entering the apartment, police found the bodies.

This investigation is currently being handled as a homicide investigation, authorities said. Preliminary information indicates that this incident may be a murder-suicide. Both bodies appeared to have gunshot wounds. Autopsies may be performed later today.

Police have identified the two found in the apartment, a 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, but names are being withheld pending notification of relatives.
