KU, MU rise in BCS, polls

Kansas and Missouri have muscled their way up the BCS standing. The Jayhawks are No. 4 and the Tigers No. 6.

The Jayhawks make the jump from No. 8 after crushing Nebraska 76-39 on Saturday. The outcome, coupled with losses by Boston College and Arizona State gave Kansas and Missouri room to move in the polls.

The Jayhawks, 9-0, are fifth in the Associated Press, USA Today Coach and Harris polls.

Missouri, 8-1, which blew out Colorado 55-10, jumped from ninth to seventh in the polls.

The top two teams in the final BCS standing play in the BCS National Championship game on Jan. 7.

Ohio State leads the BCS standing, followed by LSU, Oregon, Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri.
