LAWRENCE | Kansas sophomore guard Brady Morningstar has elected to redshirt this season.
“Brady came to us this morning with his decision,” KU coach Bill Self said. “This is a good play for him. I think he’ll be a better player as a fifth-year senior.”
Morningstar, a Lawrence native and graduate of Free State High School, appeared in 16 games last year and averaged 2.1 points per game.
“It was the right decision for me,” Morningstar said. “I’m looking forward to working as hard as I can to contribute to this program.”

Morningstar would have been buried on the KU bench behind guards Russell Robinson, Mario Chalmers, Sherron Collins, Brandon Rush and Rodrick Stewart.
