Ex-councilwoman McFadden-Weaver guilty in mortgage fraud case

A federal jury today found former Kansas City Councilwoman Saundra McFadden-Weaver guilty of one count of conspiracy and six counts of wire fraud.

She signed loan documents that overstated her income and incorrectly said she would live in a Lee’s Summit house and repay the mortgage. She did neither.

Sentencing will occur at a later date.
