A man was found shot to death this morning after Kansas City police were summoned to the intersection of Linwood Boulevard and College Avenue.
Officers were called to the area around 1:30 a.m. on a report of shots fired and found a man lying on the pavement. Details of how the shooting occurred were not available, said Sgt. Tony Sanders, a police spokesman.
Efforts to revive the shooting victim, who has not been identified, were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Sanders said.
It was the city’s 57th homicide of the year. There were 52 homicides reported during the same period a year ago.
