Kansas guard Sherron Collins has been selected to the preseason All-Big 12 team and Jayhawks junior-college transfer Mario Little was named preseason newcomer of the year.
Collins came off the bench during most of Kansas’ national championship season. He averaged 9.3 points and won the Big 12’s Sixth Man Award last season.
Little, a 6-foot-5 swing, led Chipola Junior College to a 68-5 record over the past two seasons. He averaged 15.2 points and 5.5 rebounds.
Oklahoma sophomore forward Blake Griffin was named preseason player of the year. He averaged 14.7 points and 9.1 rebounds last season.

Also on the preseason all-league team: Baylor guard Curtis Jerrells, Texas forward Damion James and Longhorns guard A.J. Abrams.
Sooners guard Willie Warren was named preseason freshman of the year.
