UMKC extends AD's contract, adds women's soccer

UMKC athletic director Tim Hall signed a contract extension through 2012.

In Hall’s 16 months as athletic director, he’s made some significant changes. In his first couple of months, Hall fired men’s basketball coach Rich Zvosec and hired Matt Brown. He also removed the interim tag from women’s basketball coach Candace Whitaker and made her head coach.

Hall has worked quickly to improve some of the athletic facilities, upgrading the locker rooms for the men’s and women’s basketball teams and the volleyball team.

Also, UMKC is in the process of starting women’s soccer, which will begin playing competitively in the fall of 2009.

In the classroom, the academic performance of UMKC student-athletes was 3.19 during the 2008 winter semester.
