Leavenworth soldier killed in Afghan bombing

WASHINGTON | Pentagon officials say a soldier from Leavenworth was one of four soldiers killed in a bombing in Afghanistan.

The Pentagon said 20-year-old Spc. William J. Mulvihill, a member of the Special Troops Battalion, died Friday when a roadside bomb exploded near his unit's vehicle in Chowkay Valley, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered after their vehicle was bombed.

The soldiers were from the 3rd Brigade of 1st Infantry Division based at Fort Hood, Texas.
