Chiefs agree to deal with first-round pick Albert

One of the Chiefs' two first-round picks will be on the team plane to training camp today.

Branden Albert, the 15th overall pick, agreed to contract terms this morning to a five-year contract with Kansas City this morning. Albert is the second of the Chiefs' first-round picks and the first to sign. Defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey, whom the Chiefs took at No. 5 overall, has yet to sign.

Dorsey is the highest overall pick who hasn't yet signed.

The Chiefs hope to make Albert, a 6-foot-5 and 316-pounder who played guard at Virginia, into their starting left tackle. They bumped Damion McIntosh to right tackle during organized team activities and minicamp, and Albert said then he was taking well to the new position.

The Chiefs have now signed 10 of their 12 draft picks.
