The Chiefs reduced their list of unsigned draft picks to seven today when they agreed to terms on three-year contracts with sixth-round wide receiver Kevin Robinson of Utah State and seventh-round defensive end Brian Johnston of Gardner-Webb.
Robinson has the better chance of contributing as a rookie. The Chiefs will give him a long look in their search for a new kickoff and punt returner. Robinson returned four punts and four kickoffs for touchdowns at Utah State.
The Chiefs previously signed three draft picks, fourth-round wide receiver Will Franklin of Missouri, fifth-round cornerback Brandon Carr of Grand Valley State and sixth-round tackle Barry Richardson of Clemson.
Still unsigned are their top six picks: first-round defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey of LSU, first-round tackle Branden Albert of Virginia, second-round cornerback Brandon Flowers of Virginia Tech, third-round running back Jamaal Charles of Texas, third-round tight end Brad Cottam of Tennessee and third-round safety DaJuan Morgan of North Carolina State.
