Kansas State will add four players to its football ring of honor — all part of what will be an ongoing celebration of its season 10 years ago.
Terence Newman, Mark Simoneau, David Allen and Martin Gramatica will be honored at halftime of the Wildcats’ season opener Aug. 30 against North Texas at Bill Snyder Family Stadium, the school announced Thursday.
Those players were part of K-State’s 1998 team that climbed to No. 1 in the coaches’ poll for the first time in school history.
Those previously who have had their name placed on the ring of honor in the stadium are Lynn Dickey, Steve Grogan, Jaime Mendez, Sean Snyder, Veryl Switzer and Gary Spani.
