Hillary Will gets first victory at Heartland Park Topeka

TOPEKA | Hillary Will got the first victory of her top fuel career as she beat two-time champion Larry Dixon in the final of the NHRA Summer Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka on Sunday.

Will became the third woman to win an race in the NHRA’s top divisions this season — she joins Ashley Force and Melanie Troxel, who both won in the funny car division.

John Force beat Tim Wilkerson to win the funny car trophy at Heartland Park. It was the 126th victory of Force’s career, but the first since a horrific crash at Texas last season. Force is a 14-time funny car champion and the winningest driver in NHRA history.

In the pro stock division, Ron Krisher beat Larry Morgan in the finals.
