Dog washes today in Valley Center, Bel Aire

Valley Center Animal League will hold a fundraising dog wash from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Don Jr.' s Barber Shop, 124 S. Meridian in Valley Center.

Donations will be accepted for the organization, which promotes responsible pet ownership in the Valley Center area.

Meanwhile, in Bel Aire, volunteers with RETAIN will be washing dogs from 1 to 4 p.m. outside Heartland Animal Hospital, 4100 N. Woodlawn.

Donations of $4 for a small or medium-sized dog and $5 for a large dog are requested.

Proceeds go to RETAIN (Responsible and Ethical Treatment of Animals in Neighborhoods), a local group that helps pay for spay and neuter surgeries for pets whose owners can't afford them.

Bunny TNT birthday bash set for Sunday

Bunny TNT, an organization for people who own and/or love bunnies, will celebrate its fifth birthday with an event at Exploration Place, 300 N. McLean Blvd., from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The club will have exhibits and activities in the lobby. There will also be bunnies for petting and for adoption.
