Dog washes today to raise funds for causes

Does your dog need a bath? Let someone else do the dirty work and donate to a good cause today at your choice of three fundraising dog washes.

A dog wash from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Joe's Car Wash, 206 N. Seneca, will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Prices are $15 for a dog wash and $10 for a nail trim (cats welcome, too).

GreenAcres Market is sponsoring the first of three summer dog washes to benefit the Sedgwick County Animal Response Team, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the survival and welfare of animals during disasters.

Today's wash is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the GreenAcres parking lot at 21st and Rock Road. A donation of $20 is suggested.

RETAIN, a nonprofit group that helps pay for spay and neuter surgeries for pets, will wash dogs from 1 to 4 p.m., weather permitting, today and every Saturday through Sept. 3 outside Heartland Animal Hospital, 4100 N. Woodlawn in Bel Aire. Donations of $4 for a small or medium-sized dog and $5 for a large dog are requested.
