Dog wash today to raise money for SCART

The Sedgwick County Animal Response Team will hold a fundraising dog wash from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at GreenAcres Market, 8141 E. 21st St.

Donations of $20 per animal are suggested, and all proceeds will go to help SCART, which helps local animals in the aftermath of natural or manmade disasters.

Bark for Life cancer fundraiser is July 24

The American Cancer Society will hold a Bark for Life fundraiser from 10 a.m. until noon July 24 at Riverside Park. Registration is $25 per dog.

Dog owners can start a team, join a team or register as an individual. There will be goodies for the dogs, contests, demonstrations by K-9 units and more.

Dog grooming seminar at All Paws

All Paws Pet Center at 21st and Maize Road will offer a free grooming seminar at 1 p.m. July 31.

David Emrich with David's Dog Spa will demonstrate the proper brushes for the different dog coats, proper nail cutting and grinding, ear cleaning and how to stretch the time between professional dog groomings.

Kennel club offers conformation classes

The Wichita Kennel Club will offer beginning conformation classes, teaching people how to prepare their dogs for a show, starting Aug. 10.

Classes will be Tuesdays at 7 p.m. for six weeks at the kennel club, 3448 N. Emporia. The fee is $65.
