Daylily sale, iris show – it’s Mother’s Day weekend at Botanica

A daylily sale today and an iris show and free admission to the gardens for mothers on Sunday make up Mother’s Day weekend at Botanica.

The Prairie Winds Daylily Club will have its sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or sellout today, with locally grown plants (including Kansas Kitten, pictured above). Prices start at $2. Admission to the sale is free.

The Wichita Area Iris Club will have a show of irises from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission to the show is free. Admission to the gardens also will be free for mothers on Mother’s Day, and will cost $5 for everyone else.

Annieglass artist to be in town

Ann Morhauser, the California artist behind hand-crafted Annieglass tableware, will be at the Plaid Giraffe, 302 N. Rock Road, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday. There will be a trunk show and signing of pieces by Morhauser, including an exclusive piece designed exclusively for the Plaid Giraffe that benefits the Sedgwick County Zoo, pictured.
