Tasks this week: General maintenance with a few peppers, tomatoes, eggplant and long beans to harvest. Those long beans just won't quit! As we move into fall, there isn't a lot to do in the garden beyond keeping everything growing until it gets too cold and harvesting as needed.
Observations: The Swiss Chard is finally starting to look a little bit better, so hopefully we will be harvesting again soon. The Concord Grapes are still green on the vines and a few are slowly turning. We're not really sure why they are not ripening, because they've been full size for several weeks.
Challenges: Flea beetles are still having a field day with our fall greens, especially the Asian greens. We may have to treat again. Also, something has been enjoying some of the spinach we planted a few weeks ago.
Anticipated next week: More of the same.
