Observations: Mexican bean beetles have been munching on lima bean leaves. Cantaloupe is blooming abundantly. Some squash are being lost to vine borers.
Challenges: Keeping the plants watered well in the heat.
Anticipated next week: Harvesting more beans, carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes; weekly pulling of weeds, watching for insect damage, deadheading.
