The Star’s All-Metro volleyball team
Ashton Anderson, Park Hill South, senior. While leading the Panthers to the Missouri Class 4 state championship match, Anderson tallied 834 assists and 183 digs as the team’s primary setter. She has signed with Tulsa.
Madison Duello, Liberty, junior. She was recently selected one of the top 50 recruits in the Class of 2015. Duello had 389 kills as an outside hitter for Liberty, which won 30 matches. She has committed to Wisconsin.
Kali Eaken, Bishop Miege, senior. A Kansas State signee, Eaken led the Stags to the Kansas Class 4-1A state title, recording 1,103 assists as a setter. She was selected the Kansas Volleyball Association 4-1A Player of the Year and Eastern Kansas League Player of the Year.
Anna Kropf, St. Teresa’s Academy, senior. A Duke signee, Kropf won the Evelyn Gates Award, given to the top player in the Kansas City area. Primarily a middle hitter, she totaled 54 blocks, 214 kills and a .491 hitting percentage.
Arianna Person, St. James Academy, senior. While leading the Thunder to a sixth straight state title, Person recorded 376 kills to push her career mark to a program-record 1,236. She was selected the Kansas Volleyball Association’s 5A Player of the Year and a second-team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Brittany Thomas, St. Thomas Aquinas, senior. A Lipscomb University signee, Thomas led the Saints to the Kansas Class 5A state championship game. She recorded 568 digs and 90 assists as a libero. She was selected the Eastern Kansas League Defensive Player of the Year.
NOTE: Beginning with the 2013-14 high school sports season, The Star will only be selecting an All-Metro first team in volleyball.
