Q: Denise -- I live in Delano and noticed they've thrown that new Braum's up in what appears to be record time. Any idea when it will open? — Russ from Wichita

A: I agree, Russ. I drive past it daily and have been amazed how quickly it's been built. Carrie reported last week that the new Braum's (at 201 N. Seneca) is scheduled to open Nov. 8, replacing the Braum’s just around the corner on West Douglas, which will close after business on Nov. 7.

Question of the week

I accidentally stumbled across the Waterside Cafe in the Farm Credit Bank Building last week. It made me wonder how many office buildings had nice little cafes that are open to the public tucked inside. Know of any?

And a couple of answers to last week’s question: We named our favorite Rock Road restaurants. Now it’s the west side’s turn. What’s your favorite restaurant west of West?

“Tommy's for me.” — JinJiang

“DeFazio’s all the way. If you haven't been — go there now.” —janacurl

“DeFazio's without a doubt the best pretty much all over Wichita!” — YouWish

“Connie's, El Paisa, or Felipe's for Mexican. Kanai for sushi! Bella Luna is dependably great. Taco Pronto for Tex-Mex.” — hotheadred

“Gindi is by far the best Asian resturant on the west side and possibly in town, and there are many good ones. DeFazio's is the best Italian, El Paisa the best Mexican.” — looiwu

“Ate at Bella Vita on West Street last night and it was excellent. Much better than the garden variety Italian restaurants where Gunther or Felipe is the chef. Bella Vita serves real Italian cuisine.” — Vette78
