Heavy rains cause safety concerns, delay newspaper deliveries

Eagle staff

In addition to closing some schools and causing power outages, flooding in the Wichita area and carrier safety concerns will cause some home deliveries of The Wichita Eagle to be late Friday.

Jim Caruso, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Wichita, said the worst areas of flooding Friday morning included southern Sedgwick County, southwest Butler County, far northeast Sumner County and potentially northwest Cowley County.

The Wichita Eagle apologizes for any inconvenience. Please call 1-800-200-8906 to report a delivery delay.
