Netflix’s hit series “Stranger Things” is coming back for a second season.
The streaming service announced Wednesday that its breakout show will return for nine episodes next year, one more episode than in its widely praised first season, which debuted in July.
Although Netflix does not disclose viewership data – much to the frustration of the rest of the TV industry – by other measures “Stranger Things” has been the hit of the summer.
The internet has obsessed over its baked-in-1980s nostalgic title sequence, its characters (Barb, most recently, played by Shannon Purser) and the performances of its young actors.
