River Festival

2013 Riverfest schedule

All events are free with a button unless otherwise noted. Some events have changed since the River Festival brochure was published. Any additional updates will be posted at wichitariverfest.com.

Ongoing events:

The Wichita Eagle Medallion Hunt — The hunt is under way and continues until June 6 or the medallion is found. Daily clues will be published in The Eagle and at 11 a.m. on Kansas.com. Winner receives a Subaru Impreza from Subaru of Wichita.

Chalk it up — 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, on the Riverwalk between the Lewis and Douglas Avenue bridges. Use chalk to answer the question of the day posed by the River Festival.

Paddle Boats — 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; 5:30-8:30 p.m. Monday; 12:30-2:30 p.m. and 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. Board by the Douglas Avenue Bridge on the Arkansas River.

River Festival Photography Contest — Douglas Photographic Imaging and Wichita Festivals are giving away $2,000 in cash for the best photos. Go to wichitariverfest.com or douglasphoto.com for categories and details on how to enter.

Kansas Lottery — 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Food Court, Century II Drive. Enter non-winning Ultimate Getaway scratch tickets for a chance to win one of four vacations.

Cardboard Regatta: 1-3 p.m., near Douglas Avenue Bridge on the Arkansas River. Registration opens at noon. The first 12 teams to register will build a boat out of cardboard and duct tape and compete to see which boat stays afloat the longest.

Admirals’ Armada: 1-2 p.m., Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum, 204 S. Main. Free admission to museum Sunday only with button.
