When I visited Broadway Burgers & BBQ, it was the first time I’d ever seen a smoker smoking meat in front of a restaurant. I knew then that I would have a tough food decision to make once I got inside to place my order.
Jeremy and Marisol Snyder purchased Broadway Burgers & BBQ two years ago and showed me and my family what customer service is all about. From the cook to cashier, each played an integral role in answering questions, offering suggestions and making sure our meals were satisfying.
And I needed their expertise to place my order. The restaurant offers more than 20 burger varieties plus chicken fried steak, fried chicken sandwiches, smoked chicken, brisket, pork, hot links, ribs from the smoker and chicken strip dinners. It also has hand-cut french fries, barbecue beans, coleslaw, potato salad, onion rings, fried okra, breaded mushrooms, mozzarella sticks and cheese fries.
My daughter and I shared a quarter-pound nacho cheese bacon burger topped with nacho cheese sauce and crispy bacon and a quarter-pound bacon jalapeno burger with grilled jalapenos, crispy bacon and pepper jack cheese. The burgers are made from fresh ground beef and are grilled to perfection.
We also had the hand-cut french fries and barbecue beans. The seasoning on the fries came from a special recipe the Snyders have that dates back to the early 1900s, and the beans were made with meat from the smoker.
My husband had the shredded smoked chicken sandwich, fries and breaded mushrooms. We also sampled the smoked pork, brisket, rib tips and chicken, all of which were tender and had a mild, smoky flavor. The breading on the mushrooms clung to the mushrooms and didn’t fall apart when dipped in the ranch dressing provided. The fries were tasty and not greasy. And the beans? Let’s just say that I will order them each and every time I return for a meal.
Broadway Burgers & BBQ offers dine-in seating for 38 people plus carry-out and can sell barbecue by the pound as well.
