Another big beer-tasting event is starting in Wichita, and this one is intended as a celebration of fall.

AmberFest is a new component to AmberWaves, a beer stroll fundraiser started by Starkey in 2014. That will still happen on Thursday, Sept. 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. and will invite ticket holders to stroll along West Douglas in Delano, stopping for beer and food samples at 13 participating businesses, including All Things BBQ, The Chocolate Fountain, The Monarch and Ruben’s Mexican Grill.

Then on Saturday, Sept. 24, a new event called AmberFest, described as “a celebration of Oktoberfest and all things fall,” will happen at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. Attendees there will be able to sample from 150 Oktoberfest and German beers, specialty one-off brews, and hard ciders from California, Colorado and Kansas, listen to music from DJ Carbon, play games and dine at food trucks like B.S. Sandwich Press, Funky Monkey Munchies, Let’m Eat Brats, Noble House Hawaiian Plate Lunch and Sunflower Espresso. That event happens from noon to 3 p.m.

Tickets are $50 to each event, or tickets for both events are $90. The events are both open to ages 21 and older and are available now at www.amberwavesict.com or by phone at 316-494-7598.

All proceeds from the events will go to Starkey, which serves more than 500 people with disabilities.
