Less than a year after opening, Angkor Donuts has closed. The Wichita Eagle

Less than a year after opening, Angkor Donuts at 460 N. West St. is closed.

The shop, which opened in October last year, was owned by Steven Chhang, who also has a doughnut shop in Arkansas. He opened the Wichita shop inside an old Taco Tico that he painted bright red, and he named the shop after a Cambodian temple.

A for-sale sign went up in front of the building a couple of weeks ago, and now, the phone is disconnected, the doors are locked and all the display cases have been removed from the building.

I left a message for Chhang but haven’t heard back. It appears West Street will have to rely on Dunkin’. There’s a Dunkin’ Donuts just a few blocks to the south on West Street.
