In the world of restaurants and bars, opening is worthy of a celebration. Staying open is, too.

Several Wichita establishments are marking those accomplishments this weekend with free samples, entertainment and deals. Among them.

Peerless grand opening: The new bar at 919 E. Douglas, which just opened last week, is celebrating its grand opening on Saturday. It’ll open two hours early at 2 p.m. and will offer free food, including lotus wrapped pulled pork. After 10 p.m., Lamphouse Photo Co. will be on site with its photo booth. The bar is where the Alibi Room previously operated. It’s owned by Travis Hatfield and has several locally brewed beers on tap.

Bann Thai grand opening: The Thai restaurant, which recently relocated from the east side to 3833 W. 13th St., next to Knolla’s, is having grand opening celebration this weekend. Owner Wanwaree Jackson is celebrating from today, Thursday, June 23, through Saturday and will offer 15 percent off people whose bills are $25 or more.

Reverie Coffee Roasters third anniversary party: The popular coffee shop and roaster at 2611 E. Douglas will celebrate three years in business from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday. The party will feature tours by owner Andrew Gough at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., ice cream, live music, and a lineup of food trucks outside all day.

Beautiful Day Cafe birthday party: The cafe at 2516 E. Central is celebrating its first anniversary all week and will be offering free cake and free samples of its new dishes through Saturday. Customers also can register to win a $35 gift card, which will be given away on Saturday.

Marco’s Pizza anniversary party: The Marco’s Pizza & Family Video at 521 W. Grand in Haysville is putting on an afternoon party to celebrate its anniversary. The party begins at 1 p.m. and will feature music, food, Slip & Slide races, balloon tosses, face painting and more.
