Sunday is Father’s Day. And although local restaurants don’t make as big of a to-do as on Mother’s Day, several are still offering Father’s Day dining specials. Among them:
Brunches and buffets
Doo-Dah Diner, 206 E. Kellogg: Doo-Dah’s ramped-up Father’s Day buffet will include smoked prime rib, pan fried chicken, pork belly and grits plus all the breakfast usuals. It will be offered from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will cost $24.99, $14.99 for ages 6-12, free for 5 and younger.
The Hill Bar & Grill, 4800 E. Douglas: It’s open for a special Father’s Day a la carte brunch that also will include some lunch items. It’s served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

Taste and See, 255 N. Washington: The Old Town restaurant is putting on a Father’s Day buffet that will include items like pork belly and grits, smoked barbecue ribs, veal shank, nachos, Cuban sandwiches, street tacos and a custom burger bar. will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is $28 for adults, $12 for children. Twelve, 12111 W. Maple: The restaurant is putting on a special Father’s Day barbecue buffet brunch that will include hard wood smoked brisket, prime rib, seafood and a dessert bar. The adult buffet will also include barbecue sandwiches, gourmet hot dogs and bratwurst. It’s from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and $25 for adults, $11 for children ages 6-12, free for ages 5 and under. Two Olives, 2949 N. Rock Road: The brunch buffet in the Olive Tree Banquet Hall will feature beef with pepper corn sauce, beef roulade, smoked barbecue ribs, beer-battered cod, desserts and more. It’s served from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the cost is $21 adults, $19 seniors, $10 ages 5-12, free for ages 4 and under. Reservations are not required but can be made by calling 316-681-1100.
Wine Dive, 4714 E. Douglas: Open for a special Father’s Day a la carte brunch that also will include items like chicken and waffles, lox bagel and a Father’s Day special of a chicken breast on top of a deep-fried doughnut with syrup and maple butter.
Adrian’s, 2121 N. Rock Road: The Mediterranean restaurant is adding several Father’s Day specials to its regular menu, including prime rib, salmon tilapia, shrimp in lobster white wine cream sauce, bourbon steak and shrimp, special drinks and desserts. All specials come with choice of sides.
Hangar One Steakhouse, 5925 W. Kellogg: This restaurant is celebrating Father’s Day from Friday to Sunday and each day will offer several Father’s Day specials, including a bone-in 16-ounce prime rib with two sides for $28.99 and a barbecue platter. Hooter’s, 3151 N. Rock Road: Diners can get 10 boneless wings free on Sunday when they buy any 10 wings for dad.
Stroud’s, 3661 N. Hillside: The fried chicken restaurant is taking Father’s Day reservations from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is filling up quickly. As a Father’s Day special, the restaurant will be making its “long-lost” recipe for Stroud’s spare ribs with house-made barbecue and serving them Friday through Sunday. Abuelo’s, 1413 N. Waterfront Parkway, 452 S. Ridge Road: Dads who dine in will receive a special card an Abuelo’s Father’s Day cap while supplies last.
Cheri’s Bakery, 2121 N. Tyler Road: From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, children can visit the bakery and decorate a circle-shaped cookie with frosting and sprinkles to create a make-and-take gift for dad. The cost is $2 a child.
Firehouse Subs, 8007 E. Kellogg, 2755 N. Maize Road, 2413 N. Greenwich: The sandwich chain will give fathers a free sub on Sunday with purchase of another sub, chips and a drink. Print off a coupon on the Firehouse Subs Facebook page.
Jimmie’s Diner, 3111 N. Rock Road, 1519 George Washington Blvd., 2121 N. Tyler.: Both locations of this restaurant will give fathers a free float on Father’s Day with purchase.
Noble House Hawaiian Plate Lunch: The food truck will be parked at Central Standard Brewing, 156 S. Greenwood, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday and is offering a Hawaiian plate lunch that includes two premium cigars for $25. Make a reservations at 951-491-5487.
Whole Foods Market, 1423 N. Webb Road, 316-630-8484: The high-end grocery store is putting on a Father’s Day picnic buffet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. that costs $12.99 for adults, $6.99 for children 12 and under. The menu includes pulled pork, burgers, bratwurst, hot dogs, bacon-infused baked beans, mac and cheese and more. There’s also a build-your-own sundae bar, face painting and a photo booth.
