Wichita gained two new locations of two existing restaurants during the past several days, and a third is about to open.
On Friday, the second Pie Five opened in front of the SuperTarget at NewMarket Square, 2755 N. Maize Road. The first one opened at 334 S. Ridge Road in August. The restaurant chain allows diners to choose a type of crust and sauce then go through a line, Chipotle style, and pick their toppings. The pizza travels through the oven and is done by the time they get to the cash register. A third Pie Five will open at 21st and Rock in January.
Next door to the just-opened Pie Five at NewMarket Square, a second location of Firehouse Subs is almost ready to go. Managers are aiming for Monday, Oct. 20, but that’s not firm. Wichita’s first Firehouse Subs opened in December at 8007 E. Kellogg Dr.
Also, Wichita’s second Twin Peaks is now open at 7325 W. Taft, near Kellogg and Ridge. Its first night was Monday, and it will open daily at 5 p.m. until Saturday, when it will begin its normal hours: 11 a.m. to midnight Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The first Twin Peaks, a bar and grill specializing in scantily clad waitresses, opened at at 8310 E. 21st St. in 2011.
