It stands to reason that Wichita might have a larger population of “FredHeads” than most cities, considering that the Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers chain was founded here.
So it also stands to reason that Wichita FredHeads might be partially responsible for the results of this list, which Freddy’s Frozen Custard headquarters put out on Thursday.
It’s a ranking of the most purchased foods at all of the chain’s restaurants across the country in 2019 — and the most purchased custard treats.

Top 5 Freddy’s foods:
1. No. 1 Combo: This meal, which comes with a classic double steakburger, shoestring fries and a drink, was the top seller in 2019 and is “the king of our hearts and the hearts of our FredHeads,” said the Freddy’s release.
2. Bacon & Cheese Double Steak Burger: Add bacon to the classic, and it becomes the chain’s second best seller of 2019.
3. Double Steakburger California Style: In third place is this twist on the classic, which includes lettuce, tomato, onion, American cheese and the addition of Freddy’s Sauce.
4. Freddy’s Original Patty Melt: Looking for a change of Freddy’s pace? You could try this fourth place Freddy’s favorite, which is made with two steakburger patties, grilled onions and Swiss cheese on toasted rye bread.
5. Kid’s Cheeseburger meal: Kids love Freddy’s, so their favorite burger meal — which includes a steakburger with a single patty — came in fifth.
TOP 5 FREDDY’S CUSTARD TREATS
1. Regular sized shakes: The most popular after-burger treats sold at Freddy’s last year were the milkshakes, made with Freddy’s custard.
2. Turtle Sundae, mini: In second place is the mini-sized turtle sundae, which features vanilla custard topped with hot fudge, caramel and pecan pieces.
3. Turtle Sundae, regular sized: The treat so nice, it places twice: The larger version of the popular turtle sundae placed third.
4. Create-your-own sundaes: Freddy’s customers really love sundaes, and the fourth most popular treat is the design-your-own sundae, with 30 different topping options.
5. Dirt ‘n Worms sundae: It’s a good bet that the same kids ordering the fifth-most purchased food item are ordering the fifth most purchased dessert item: a sundae made with vanilla custard, crushed up Oreo cookies and gummy worms.
