For the past 13 years, you’d see its sign glowing as you drove down West Kellogg.

But on Saturday, Monterrey Mexican Grill at 5905 W. Kellogg will open for the last time. Owners Graciela and Leandro Raymundo announced on Facebook over the weekend that Saturday, Dec. 23, would the the restaurant’s last day in business.

“To Our Loyal Customers,” they wrote. “We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for keeping us in business for the past 13 years. Our time has came to say goodbye.”

Contacted later, the owners said “it was just time” and that there was no reason for the closing other than that they had dedicated all of their time to running the restaurant and wanted to do other things with their live.

Monterrey will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
